Successfully advocated for Proposition 64 youth funds to go to prevention

Along with a statewide coalition of grassroots partners, Prevention Institute successfully advocated for Prop 64 (The Control, Regulate and Tax Adult Use of Marijuana Act) youth fund dollars to support prevention activities, with an emphasis on investments in communities most impacted by the war on drugs. PI has a representative on the California Department of Health Care Services Prop 64 advisory board, which has made recommendations on the design of the request for proposals and the allocation of funds for youth programs focused on preventing substance use disorder.
