Madison Do Linh
Maddy (she/her/hers) is an Associate Program Manager based in Prevention Institute’s Oakland office. She joined the organization in 2021 as a Program Assistant and has since grown into her current role. Maddy now co-leads policy advocacy efforts at the California state and federal level, partnering with communities of practice and community members to advance healthy, equitable, and just systems. She participates in organization’s Impact & Metrics and Health Equity & Racial Justice teams and additionally assists the Executive Team by liaising with the Board of Directors.
Throughout her time at Prevention Institute, Maddy has contributed to resources and frameworks that strengthen and provide strategic direction for upstream approaches to prevention. She supported the development of the Timeline of Resistance, an interactive resource that highlights and elevates the role that public health has played in historical and contemporary social justice movements. Recently, she has supported Prevention Institute’s work on Opioid Settlement Funds, co-authoring a framework that details core principles and evidence-based strategies that help decision-makers invest their funding across the substance misuse and prevention continuum. Maddy is a founding member of the Public Health for Community Power Coalition, where she currently sits as a Steering Committee member. She is passionate about and committed to efforts that are community-centered and address root causes of inequity through policy and practice change.
Maddy, a first-generation college student, graduated with a BA in psychology and biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her interdisciplinary coursework and research on moral development and academic misconduct deepened her curiosity and understanding of human behavior, and the pivotal role prevention plays in shaping health outcomes.
Outside of PI, you can find Maddy exploring hiking trails, doing crossword puzzles, and testing out new recipes.
