Lessons Along the Journey: Taking Action Toward Racial Justice in Public Health Systems

In this video Prevention Institute's Madison Do Linh, La’Quana Williams, and Xavier Lofton facilitate the second session of a three-part bi-monthly learning and discussion series sharing learnings and reflections across PI’s projects that are rooted in racial justice.

The PI team opens up with a discussion on organizational privilege and how it can come out in partnerships. After examining how different forms of power can drive systems change, the team shares an example from their latest draft of the Timeline of Resistance Movements, with a focus on building power for economic liberation.

The webinar concludes with reflections from Prevention Institute staff members Rachel Bennett and Dana Fields-Johnson on the ways that they have attempted to leverage organizational privilege to support power building with community-based organizations.
