Bridging Partnerships between Public Health and Racial Justice Groups
A key focus of the work Prevention Institute does is at the intersection of health equity and racial justice. With funding from the Kellogg Foundation, we are working to build cross-agency capacity, transform and strengthen infrastructure, and amplify specific policies and practices that support actions to dismantle structural racism and advance racial justice to better the health of all our communities. We find it imperative that the field of public health collaborate with organizations who are improving community health in innovative ways. Given organizations' expertise, leadership, and intersectional approach to public health, we held one-hour interviews with racial justice organizations to build on, and learn from, our collective work to advance systems and practices grounded in racial justice. The outcome of these conversations is the following slide deck.
