Violence as a Public Health Issue
Wednesday, August 8, 2012
10 to 11 a.m. PT / 1 to 2 p.m. ET
Violence is preventable, and yet it persists as a serious health concern across the U.S. Violence is a leading cause of injury, disability and premature death, contributes to chronic diseases, and jeopardizes health, well-being and safety. Join Annie Lyles and Edward-Michael Muña of Prevention Institute for a discussion on how the public health approach can reduce violence and also prevent violence before it happens. Part of the California Pacific Public Health Training Center Grand Rounds, this webinar describes how a comprehensive strategy can address the root causes of violence, engages youth and communities, and fosters economic opportunity.
