Youth Violence National and State Statistics

Users will find data on national and state-specific trends in youth homicide rates. These pages include information on the leading causes of death and homicide rates by age, sex and race/ethnicity. National data on non-fatal assault-related injury rates and arrests rates are also provided.

WISQARS (Web-based Injury Statistics Query and Reporting System): This tool is a CDC-managed interactive database system that provides customized reports of injury-related data throughout the United States.

YRBSS: Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System
The Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS) monitors priority health-risk behaviors and the prevalence of obesity and asthma among youth and young adults. The YRBSS includes a national school-based survey conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state, territorial, tribal, and district surveys conducted by state, territorial, and local education and health agencies and tribal governments.
