Summary
Milwaukee Health Department’s Office of Violence Prevention engaged Prevention Institute to help facilitate the development of the Blueprint grounded in PI’s Adverse Community Experiences and Resilience (ACE|R) framework. The planning process resulted in a Blueprint to prevent multiple forms of violence, and the emergence of a public health approach as a viable and complementary strategy to a criminal justice approach to public safety. Informed by an understanding of community trauma and resilience, the process helped foster a stronger commitment to neighborhood leadership and multisector collaboration on the pathway to peace. More information about the Blueprint can be found at http://city.milwaukee.gov/414Life.
