Free Primary Prevention for Change Training: A Community Approach to Promoting Health, Safety, and Equity

Prevention Institute is offering FREE training opportunities focused on understanding and analyzing the community factors that shape health, safety, and equity. Through these trainings, participants are able to understand the underlying causes of illness and injury and then craft comprehensive approaches to transform unhealthy and unsafe environments. The training emphasizes practical information, skills and tools. Trainers will introduce participants to primary prevention initiatives, a “two steps to prevention” approach, the THRIVE community health framework, the Spectrum of Prevention, and examples of successful practices and policies.

For further information on how to request and schedule a training for your community partners, please contact Carolina Guzman or Shayla Spilker at Prevention Institute at: Carolina@preventioninstitute.org, Shayla@preventioninstitute.org or by phone at 510-444-7738. These trainings are available now on a “first-come, first serve” basis, so contact us today! For more information, visit our website.

Building Healthy Community Sites are encouraged to sign up for this opportunity!

Trainings can be delivered throughout California through March 2012 and are made possible by The California Endowment’s Health Exchange Academy.
