Journal on Violence and Health
Health care practitioners can play an important role in preventing violence, and the American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine (AJLM) has dedicated its September issue to addressing violence as a public health issue. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Center for Injury Prevention collaborated with AJLM on this issue. Detroit Mayor’s Office Joins UNITY City Network
The UNITY City Network has benefited from the involvement of Detroit representatives, and UNITY is pleased to welcome the Mayor’s Office as a formal partner. UNITY commends Mayor Dave Bing for his leadership in preventing violence and his commitment to building a vibrant, healthy Detroit.
UNITY Staff Updates
Prevention Institute welcomes Victoria Benson and Maggie Barnes to UNITY. Victoria is a program assistant working on projects that prevent violence. Maggie Barnes is a New Sector resident who primarily supports the newly-launched UNITY Peer Learning Forum.
