Prevention Institute and Equitable Cities hosted a webinar highlighting a new resource for local leaders working to advance equitable municipal transportation, land use, and built environment policies and interventions. View the webinar here and the webinar slides here.

The forthcoming resource includes policies and strategies that hold promise for promoting equitable and inclusive access to physical activity and safe places to walk, bike, and use transit for communities facing health inequities and disinvestment (in alignment with CDC's Activity-Friendly Routes to Everyday Destinations strategy). Webinar participants learned about the process to develop the new resource, including perspectives of subject matter experts from the physical activity, land use, and transportation fields.

Opening remarks provided by Manal J. Aboelata, Deputy Executive Director, Prevention Institute.

Speakers:

  • Robert Baird, Program Manager, Prevention Institute
  • Jasneet Bains, Associate Program Manager, Prevention Institute
  • Charles T. Brown, Founder & CEO, Equitable Cities
