Project Manager with UCLA Health
The Health Equity Network of the Americas’ (HENA) mission is to promote knowledge sharing and inter-sectoral action for health equity and human rights. Initially focused on gender equality/violence against women, racial/ethnic and minority populations, and Universal Health Care Coverage; HENA’s goals are broad and inclusive. HENA’s vision is to create a network dedicated to promoting health equity within vulnerable populations in the Americas is expansive.
Reporting to the HENA’s founding directory, the Project Manager is responsible for developing, overseeing and implementing activities related to HENA. S/he will be involved in all facets of the development of the Network, including strategic planning, program development, program administration, staff supervision, financial management and communications with a wide range of stakeholders. Other tasks include coordination of international symposia, translating health recommendations into policy briefs, setting committee agendas, executing funding strategies, and creating content for our communications channels.
This position requires an innovative self-starter with expert leadership skills, knowledge and experience in managing a nonprofit organization or university research center, expertise in communications and advocacy, and the ability to develop long-term strategic plans. Fluency in written and verbal English and Spanish is required. Incumbent must be able to manage multiple tasks at once and be adept at working independently yet as a team member.
– Master’s degree or higher (or relevant experience) in the social sciences, public health, communications, or community research and action
– Experience in conducting both quantitative and qualitative research
